Labianca Partners with Local Poultry Producers

Creating Value For The Local Industry



In 2019, Labianca Company Limited partnered some local producers of the poultry industry in the attempt to promote production but there were some challenges. The cost of production was too high so the local producers were not able to meet the demands of the Ghanaian customers. So we took the initiative to invest in maize production as a way to curb the major challenge of local producers. In 2022, our farms in the Bono region produced about 300 bags of maize and we aim to produce more bags.

Again, we have invested in the construction of a “500,000 bird” poultry farm in the Bono Region and we hope to start production soon. It is also in our plans to construct a hatchery in the country to prevent the import of day-old chicks into the country.

We partnered Rockland Meat Company. Rockland sources some of their birds from other farmers and this means that we would get the opportunity to create direct and indirect value to the local poultry industry. Labianca calls on all other local poultry producers and importers to involve themselves in such strategic partnerships.

Labianca & Wegdam Food link Hand Over Renovated Mini Theatre To Tema Polyclinic

Two major companies in the frozen foods sector in the country; Labianca Company Limited and Wegdam Company Limited, have jointly handed over a newly renovated mini theatre and assorted medical supplies to the management of the Tema Polyclinic.

The mini theatre, which existed but was not functional due to its deplorable nature, has been renovated and fully refurbished by the two companies as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

The mini theatre, which has its operating room fully fitted with the state of the arts theatre table and its accompanying accessories, can also boast of a rest room for patients, nurses changing and resting rooms, a washroom with sink, air conditioners amongst others.

Labianca Company Limited, a leading importer of fresh frozen meat and fish products, was recently recognised at the Ghana Shippers Awards.

The company was adjudged best importer of frozen meat and fish products for 2020, based on volumes and value of its imports. The award, the company noted, is in recognition of the progress it has made over the years, as well as a call to do even better in the years ahead.
